Hi, I’m Amanda, founder of Class ACT Bookkeeping LLC.
I grew up in Kerrville, Texas, before moving to Alpine to attend SulRoss State University. Alpine became home for many years, and it was there that I began building the foundation of my financial career.
I spent 10 years working for Morton and Wilma Smith at Oasis Tire Co., where I gained invaluable hands-on experience in the financial side of running a business. Working closely within a small business taught me something that has shaped the way I work ever since: knowing your numbers is about much more than keeping the books. The right financial information gives a business owner the ability to plan, invest, grow, and make decisions with confidence.
In 2022, I moved back home to Kerrville to help my family and began working alongside my brother in his construction company. At the time, the company was generating approximately $2 million in annual revenue and doing well, but it needed stronger financial reporting and greater visibility into where the business stood financially in order to grow.
I helped build the financial reporting, cash-flow management, job-costing processes, and financial systems needed to support that growth. With better information available to guide purchasing, equipment, and operational decisions, the company grew from approximately $2 million to $7 million in annual revenue within two years.
That experience reinforced what I had already learned throughout my career: good bookkeeping tells you what happened, but good financial management helps you decide what happens next.
Why I Started Class Act
When I became a mom, my priorities changed.
I wanted to continue doing the work I love and use the experience I had spent years building, but I also wanted the flexibility to work remotely and be present to care for my son. Class ACT Bookkeeping was created to give me the opportunity to do both.
Today, my goal is to bring the same level of financial insight and hands-on support I have provided inside businesses to other small business owners. I understand what it looks like behind the scenes when a company is growing quickly. More revenue doesn’t automatically mean more profit, and growth can create just as many financial challenges as it solves.
